The monograph gives a systematic comparison of a number of grammatical categories in Hindi and Russian. The bulk of attention is paid to the categories of case, gender, animateness/inanimateness, number, aspect, voice, mood, and tense. The language material used is taken from fiction and periodicals in the two languages, including published translations from Hindi into Russian and from Russian into Hindi. The monograph should be of interest both to Russian specialists using, studying, or teaching Hindi, and to Hindi speakers learning Russian.
