The book contains a description of the grammatical structure of the Dargi idiom of Tanty village located in central Daghestan. This idiom belongs to the Nakh-Daghestanian language family. The authors also discuss in detail a number of issues related to the interpretation of Tanty language data. Tanty idiom is characterized by complicated and nonordinary systems of nominal and verbal inflection; ergativity, present in Daghestanian languages, which, however, is combined with a rare for this family personal concord; as well as by a number of other non-trivial features. In this work special attention is paid to the specifics of constructions of nominal group, verb constructions, syntactic structure of simple sentences of different communicative types, categories of concord. The book also includes a small corpus of Tanty texts and vocabulary materials. This grammatical description is essential for experts in the field of comparative Caucasian studies and linguistic typology.
