Москва, 2015, 680 p.
The fifth Volume is published for the first time. It deals with the events of the first half of 20th cent. First and Second World Wars are considered compre-hensively and scrupulously. The usual history books describe the prerequi-sites for wars, the balance of forces and the overall results, but in this book the author also presents the general picture of all countries of the world in that period. The interwar period is shown as a rivalry between totalitarianism of the left and right wings and complicated game on their contradictions with weakened bourgeois democracy, represented by England and France. Great attention is paid to Russia. The major subjects elaborated by the author are the Bolsheviks, the Civil War, Russia’s role in the world wars, internal problems and conflicts of the post-war periods. Fifth Volume is full of important events and, therefore, the author’s analysis and conclusions. Sometimes, they can be unpleasant for both the reader and the author himself. The book is meant for undergraduate and graduate students of the Departments of History, Humanities and Social Studies of the Universities, lecturers, as well as for all readership interested in history.
