Egyptian Votive Pottery of the Old Kingdom

The book is devoted to the study of ancient Egyptian votive pottery of the III millennium B.C., which was used in rituals in the royal pyramid complexes and in tombs of nobles concentrated in so-called pyramid zone – in the cemeteries around Memphis – the capital of the Egyptian Old Kingdom. The study is based on miniature ceramic models of vessels that have been found by Russian Archaeological Mission at Giza (Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences).
The analysis of ceramic objects with the participation of iconographical and epigraphical features allowed to ascertain the use of Egyptian votive pottery, elaborate ceramic typology and determine the detailed dating and closer to determination certain problems of Egyptology.
