Famine of 1932 – 1933 and Political Memory in Kazakh Republic

This book is dedicated to the study of the topic of current interest in contemporary history – Russian-speaking Kazakh historiography and historical journalism on the theme of famine of 1930s in Kazakh Soviet Socialist Republic. In his monograph author analyses state, problems and perspectives of Kazakhstan’s history that is being affected by unscientific influences, whish can be characterized as “militant mythologizing”. In chapters, dedicated to Kazakh estimation of the loss of life from famine of 1930s and the historical context of the analysed topic, a set of problematic questions of the period under review are being studied (according to “famous” and “independent” historians’ and journalists’ materials and evaluations 1991 – 2011).
