This collection of articles is made on the basis of International conference 'Islamic Republic: Past, Present and Future’, which was held in the Institute of Oriental Studies Russian Academy of Science 3-4 March 1999. Representatives of different scientific centers of Russia, Islamic Republic of Iran and CIS took part in the conference. The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Moscow helped in organizing this conference and gives financial support in publishing the collection of these articles.
Editorial board doesn’t prevent authors to express their own points of view which don’t always coincide with the official position of Russia and Islamic Republic of Iran.
