This book is devoted to the early stage of history of negotiations on the construction of Tianwan nuclear power station and beginning of the project’s construction (1962–2004). This power station is the biggest object of high-tech cooperation between Russia and China. When they complete to construct all the eight blocks of the plant, Tianwan NPS will become the biggest one in the world. The main source of this narrative are specialized diaries of prime-minister Li Peng who was deeply personally involved in all stages of this project’s implementation. Some attention is devoted to the personal features of Mr. Li Peng and his attitude to the USSR/Russia. This book may be of some interest to the people, interested in the history of global nuclear industry as well as to the people, who are eager to get better idea of Soviet/Russian–Chinese cooperation.
