This monograph presents the results of the research which was carried out using the method of contrastive linguistic analysis. The book makes explicit ways of interpreting and representing one of the universal conceptual categories, namely possessiveness, in grammar structures of Hindi and Russian. Similarities and differences between these languages as to the means of expressing possession are traced. The monograph contributes to the solution of the problem of possession, a propblem widely discussed in modern linguistics both from the standpoint of general theory and with regard to specific languages.
