This issue is the continuation of the Etymologic Dictionary started in 2012 by Issue I (Moscow, IOS, RAS, 283 p.). The Dictionary represents the results of the fundamental linguistic research on Ancient Arabic and fills up a substantial gap in historical linguistics, bringing together etymologies of categorematic lexical units from early Arabic poetry and prose. The data introduced covers the material of ancient and modern Semitic languages, as well as of contemporary Arabic dialects. The Dictionary follows the root principle, with the roots arranged in the Arabic alphabetic order. It is meant for specialists in various fields of semitological studies, as well as for experts in the ancient and medieval history of the Middle East.
