The presented book contains the materials of the conference mentioned in the title, which has been held at the Institute of Oriental Studies, RAS, since 1996. The team of scientists from Russia, Ukraine and Iran analysed archaeological and language sources to reconstruct early history of Indo-Arians and Indo-Iranians. They followed the traditions of methodological approach developed by E.A. Grantovsky and D.S. Raevsky for the research of Indo-Arian peoples’ early history. The papers of this book are interesting as a sample of a real interdisciplinary examination for which Grantovsky and Raevsky stood for. “Arians” and Bactrian-Margianian Archaeological Complex, Scythian etymologies, the problem of Scythians’ origin, Iranian world and Caucasus in 1st mil. B.C. are some of the themes, researched in this collection of articles. 15 scientists made their contribution to this work. One of the articles is in English.
