The book is devoted to various aspects of construction of Jewish identification and communication of historical memory in 20th cent. The work includes three Parts. The first one written by I. Sorkina and M. Agapov, analyses the image of a Jew and Jewish problems in Belarus national press at the beg. of 20th cent., as well as the relations between the USSR and Jewish community of Palestine in 1920 – 1940. The second part deals with the problems of hushing up the information on the Holocaust tragedy practiced by the Soviet regime during Great Patriotic War and after it (author – A. Lokshin), and transformation of images of the Germans in Jewish memories after Holocaust (G. Zelenina). This part also dwells on the problem of preserving memory about Holocaust in Modern Russia (E. Nosenko-Stein). The third part considers different sides of modern Jewish society life: relevancy of “Jewish Business” term (D. Mariyasis); problems of Jewish youth in Russia (D. Pisarevskaya); some issues of Israeli-USA relations (L. Khlebnikova); problems of Israeli self-identify formation (I. Baulina).
