Yuriy N. Panichkin's monography «Creation of Pakistan and Pushtun Problems» deals with one of the most important problem of the anticolonial struggle in the British India - the problem of the fate of the North West Frontier Province (NWFP). This province consists of pushtun territories annexed by the Sikh State of Punjab during its war against Afghanistan in the XIX century and then in the result of the Anglo-Sikh wars it was annexed to the Briritish India together with the territory of the Sikh State of Punjab. During the struggle for independence in the British Indian colony and its partition into two independent states (dominions) - India and Pakistan, the problem of belonging of this province to either India or Pakistan was one of the most acute and was settled by the NWFP joining Pakistan.
