Отдельно выделено российско-пакистанское сотрудничество и рассмотрены перспективы его развития. Монография опубликована в рамках совместного российско-пакистанского проекта «Исследования по Пакистану и региональным проблемам».

Economic Development of Pakistan (1947 – 2012). Macroeconomic Analysis

The book consists of 7 Chapters, Bibliography, and Statistical Appendix. Ch. 1 is devoted to the analysis of the main stages in the development of the macroeconomic research works on Pakistan. One of the central themes of this research is the unique choice to trace down the dynamic process of economic development of a newly created nation on the political map of the world. Ch. 2 is dedicated to becoming and further development of the System of National Accounts in Pakistan. The statistical accounts are an important part of the whole economic system of any country and provide an opportunity to see all the changes in all spheres of the national economy – agriculture, industry, infrastructure, services sector etc. Ch. 3 is devoted to development of the Pakistan economy in general macroeconomic level. Ch. 4 is dedicated to the analysis of the main spheres of Pakistan economy – agriculture, industry and foreign trade. An analysis of the industrial nature of GDP on the macroeconomic level, especially in dynamics gives an opportunity to study the ratio between the different branches of the economy and the specific development of the each sphere. Ch. 5 contains research of demographic issues, first of all growth rates of population, which reached 2,5 – 3 % in average in the second half of the last century. Ch. 6 is devoted to complicated issues of savings, investment and consumption in Pakistan. Aspiring to the fast modernization of the national economy and reaching high growth rates Pakistan took every effort to increase the saving rate during entire period of independence as well as the rate of investment. Ch. 7 is dedicated to study of the USSR and Russia relations with Pakistan. Soviet-Pakistani and Russian-Pakistani ties including economic relations were dependent on our relations with India for a long period of time. Nevertheless in May 2014 Moscow decided at last to start selling different types of armaments to Pakistan which means the beginning of a new epoch in Russia-Pakistan relations. This monograph is published within a framework of “Russian-Pakistani project “Researches on Pakistan and Regional Problems”.
