This publication is a sequel to the translation of Koran done by Sharipova R.V. co-authored with Sharipov U.Z. It gives rather a deep understanding about the meaning and structure of Koranic text. Volume 1 of Commentaries was published in 2011. This book is compiled on the basis of statements of a number of leading Islamic commentators of different nationalities. Their selection is subjected to the following reasons. The first one is the authoritativeness of the authors and their commentaries. The second one – the aim at presenting chosen genres and trends in interpretation of the sacred text. The third one – the selected sources are chronologically related to different periods, that allows to trace the succession of tafsir development. The book acquaints the readers with included in it surahs and ayats of Koran and the evolution of Koran interpretation (tafsirs) in Islamic studies. The second volume consists of two books and includes tafsirs to surahs and ayats of the Chapter 2 of Koran – “Al-Bakara” (“The Cow”). This Chapter contains material covering of the basic principles of Islam. In this connection, the compilers considered that it was appropriate to give the preface, which presented a brief analysis of some important aspects. Such retrospective journey into the history not only acquaints the readers with ideological similarities and inherent tensions between Islam and other Abrahamic religions that existed in the past centuries, but also shows that some of these factors are used in the modern global ideology and international relations.
