The book presents the essays of relevant situation in post-Soviet republics of Central Asia – Uzbekistan, Tadjikistan and Turkmenistan. Special attention is paid to Uzbekistan because of its significance. Complicated, concealed from foreign experts, relations inside Middle Asia elites are analysed. It is stated that aggravation of region security problem is caused by a number of factors among which the major ones are the forthcoming Western withdrawal from Afghanistan and a number of problems inside Uzbekistan. The book written in 2011 is still relevant. Some of the prognoses presented in this monograph are most likely to come to fruition. Under the conditions of cardinal changes of geopolitical situation in the world, growing non-traditional challenges to world stability it seams vital to work out new pragmatic approaches for Russia to defend its national interests in conflicts zones of Eurasia.
