This issue also includes the articles written especially for this publication. The authors form Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Russia and France in their works for the first time touch upon the most important aspects of political and ethnic history of the Caucasian Albania, the problems of its alphabet, religion and culture. The book is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Derbent and the 80th birthday of Professor Z.N. Aleksidze who breathed new life into Albanian studies by his outstanding discovery. This collection of articles is prepared by the Center for Study of Central Asia, Caucasus and Urals-Volga Region with contributions from Yu.A. Lander (the Department of Oriental Languages).
