Москва, 2017, 512 p.

The work is dedicated to the outstanding Korean public figure, prominent agent of the Comintern, an internationalist and revolutionary, one of the founders and leaders of the Communist Party of Korea, created in Irkutsk in 1921, Nam Manchun (Nam Pavel Nikiforovich).

The authors illuminate for the first time the life and work of Nam Manchun, recreated his image as a person and public figure, revealed his struggle for the vital interests of the Koreans.

The relevance of the theme of the monograph is determined by the fact that the communist movement in Korea was an important aspect of the national liberation struggle of the Korean people. Secondly, a study of this period of history makes it possible to better understand the present situation on the Korean peninsula.

The publication of the book gives an opportunity for a wide range of readers to get acquainted with the many-sided revolutionary activity, public and political views of Nam Manchun.

The book was the first attempt, as far as possible, to follow the life path of Nam Manchun, to reveal the white spots and restore the most significant episodes in his life, to show the events and meetings that were important in his destiny and his formation as a politician, his role in the creation of the Communist Party of Korea, when he led a huge underground work, the whole complexity of this work.

Nam Manchun's political biography recreated by the authors and the extensive archival materials in the book are intended to reconstruct the picture of the struggle of the Korean Communists for the national liberation of their country and social progress, the process of forming communist forces in Korea itself, the influence of foreign centers on it, the origins and nature of the struggle of the communist groups among themselves, their place in the general Korean liberation struggle, to assess the role of the Comintern in the Korean communist movement.

The authors paid considerable attention to the research activities of Nam Manchun on the issues of colonial Korea, the legal and economic status of the Koreans in the Soviet Far East, his personal contribution and his direct participation in the struggle for the unity of the Korean communist movement. The subject of his serious study was the situation of Korean women and their participation in the liberation movement.

The book first details the activities of Nam Manchun on the organization of the Korean Soviet Autonomous Region in the Far Eastern Territory.

A separate section of the book is made up of materials that characterize the activities of Nam Manchun in the direction of the Overseas Bureau of the CCP and the "Extraordinary Point of Communications" (Thikper-Yollakpu).
