In the end of the 19th century the Russian Empire enlarged its territory and got a half of the world’s Jews of that time in addition. In the course of time, despite of oppression and persecution, the Jews began to influence such aspects of Russian life as science, culture, art, industry and trade. The impact was incomparably huge considering their small population.
