Editor: Lokshin Aleksandr
Compilator: Dolmatov Vladimir

Москва, 2012, 288 p.

In the end of the 19th century the Russian Empire enlarged its territory and got a half of the world’s Jews of that time in addition. In the course of time, despite of oppression and persecution, the Jews began to influence such aspects of Russian life as science, culture, art, industry and trade. The impact was incomparably huge considering their small population. This phenomenon together with the policy of state discrimination gave rise to the so called “Jewish question”, which was a challenge for every epoch’s minds.
This collection, a sequel to “Pictorial History of Russia”, covers only new aspects of the Russian-Jewish history, which should be taken into account to avoid mutual misunderstanding and even animosity.
This book is for everyone interested in Russian history as well as international and interconfessional relations.
